You Want Love

The speaker longs for someone named Maria to return and be close. The lyrics move between sadness and hope: the speaker cries over her absence, then imagines the joy of being together. The relationship is described as mutual in its need for love, although the speaker is the one directly expressing the plea.

Several images make the feelings vivid. “Heaven on earth” suggests that a kiss feels intensely pleasurable, while flying “above to the sky” compares being held to a feeling of joy or freedom. The repeated request to “come back” and “hear me cry” makes the speaker’s longing sound urgent. The phrase “just even for a night” may suggest wanting a brief moment together, rather than promising a lasting relationship.

The lyrics leave some things unclear. The speaker says both people need love, but also asks Maria to return and stay “until eternity,” which could point to deeper commitment. That contrast may reflect a change in feeling, or simply the speaker’s emotional intensity. The song presents love as desired and comforting, but also tied to absence and pain.
