Lyrics meaning

The lyrics say that women, despite differences in appearance, background, or how society labels them, share a need for love. The repeated refrain makes this need feel urgent and collective: the speaker moves from listing different kinds of women to insisting that “we” all want love that is generous and intense.

Several images contrast social polish with hardship: “cocktail” girls stand beside “flowers of trash” and “flowers of sidewalks.” These contrasts suggest that women in very different circumstances deserve the same care. “XXL” is a familiar size label used metaphorically for love that is especially large or abundant. The lyrics also describe love through a “flame,” a troubled mood (“vague à l’âme”), a gaze, skin, and tears, combining emotional closeness with physical tenderness.

Some phrases are deliberately puzzling or open to interpretation, including the references to the moon, Saturn, and “Paul as Pauline.” They may evoke varied identities or ways of being, but the lyrics do not explain them clearly. Rather than making a precise argument about each image, the song gathers contrasts under one simple claim: whatever their differences, women need affection, intimacy, and recognition.
