The Mighty One, Elohim, Yahweh
He speaks and summons all the earth
From the rising of the sun to where it sets
From Zion, perfect in beauty
God shines forth
Our God comes, and He will not be silent
A devouring fire goes before Him
And all around Him a storm rages
He calls the heavens and earth that He may judge His own
"Gather unto me my consecrated ones..."
"Who made a covenant with me by sacrifice"
And the heavens proclaim His righteousness because
God Himself is judge
"Listen my people, and I will speak..."
I will testify against you, Israel
I am God, your God
It's not for your sacrifices that I rebuke you
Your burnt offerings are continually before me
I don't need a bull from your house
Or a goat from your folds
For every beast of the forest is mine
The cattle on a thousand hills
I know every bird of the hills
And all that moves in the field is mine
If I were hungry I would not tell you
For the world and all its fullness are mine
Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
This is what you should do
Offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving
Fulfill the vows you made to the Most High
And call on me in distress
And I'll deliver you
And you will glorify me
Offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving
Fulfill the vows you made to the Most High
And call on me in distress
And I'll deliver you
And you will glorify me
But to the wicked, God says
"What right do you have to recite my words
And talk like you're in covenant with me?
You hate my teaching
And you cast my words behind you
If you see a thief, you admire him
And you identify with adulterers
Your mouth pours evil
And your tongue is so full of deceit
You sit and speak against your brother
You slander your mother's son
You've done all these things and I have been silent
You thought that I was just like you
But now I rebuke you
Lay the charges before you
I accuse you to your face
Listen closely, you who forget God
Lest I tear you apart, and there be none to save
The one who offers to me a sacrifice of thanks
He will glorify me
And to the ones who sets his feet upon my paths
Who rearranges his life according to what's right
I will show him the salvation of God
I will show him the salvation of God
