Vision

The speaker looks back on a long period of loneliness and uncertainty, when she hoped that someone would eventually come into her life. She says she kept believing despite feeling isolated and having to rely on her own strength. Now that she has found a loving relationship, the mood shifts toward relief, joy, and gratitude.

A “vision of love” means a clear hope or imagined picture of the kind of love she wanted. “Carried me through desperation” suggests that belief helped her endure difficult feelings. The idea that the loved one was “sent down” from Heaven expresses deep thankfulness; it may be spiritual language, or a way to describe the relationship as a precious gift.

The lyrics present the relationship as the fulfillment of a dream, but they do not explain exactly how the speaker’s faith, destiny, or personal effort led to it. The repeated certainty that the right person would arrive gives the song a hopeful, almost devotional feeling.
