Mr. Clean

The lyrics contrast an orderly, respectable daily routine with intense resentment. “Mr. Clean” appears to be a man who travels to work, has a comfortable home life, and fits in with professional society. Several details suggest what makes Mr. Clean seem respectable: the “smart blue suit,” his education at Cambridge, reading The Times, and having proud parents.
