The soul of a DJ
The soul of a DJ is like the soul of a king
He serves his people not with riches but with the music that he brings
Be it techno, deep, dubstep or house
He is the maestro of his rhythm
He breathes life into his kingdom
The soul of a DJ is as deep as the sea
His imagination is not unlike that of a lord of poetry
As he sifts through his CDs and Serato alike
He chooses his symphony to our spirit's delight
In comes the kick and soon after the snare
Bassline then kicks, now our hands are in the air
Eyes closed as if we were all connected by an invisible force
From his heart to his mind and with his hands he'd make a choice
A choice that makes us dance well into
The dawn and sometimes the afternoon
Keep rockin' those 2000's, not tryin' to go home anytime soon
The soul of a DJ is at one with his sound
Bass drops and build ups designed for us to get down
His aura shines bright like a strobe flickering off the wall
An average man maybe, but in here he's ten feet tall
Now I'm not just talking mess because I'm a DJ too
These might just be my last words, I just
I just wanted to share them with you
To make you understand what we DJs go through
Up all night, practicing that mix
Making sure we come correct so that you can get your fix
Yeah, some of us are assholes, not saying any names
It's those ones who don't appreciate the history of the game
So for all you up and coming DJs
Don't get discouraged, stay the course
Just keep on playing funky music, and soon you'll have a voice
The soul of a DJ
