Tears In The Rain

The lyrics describe someone facing the end of a relationship and trying to appear composed during goodbye. At first, the speaker tells themself they will be stronger and that leaving is for the best. As the song continues, memories and a small hope of reconciliation surface, revealing that letting go is much harder than the speaker’s confident words suggest.

The rain is the central image: it hides the speaker’s tears, allowing them to conceal their pain from the person they are leaving. “Turn the page” suggests beginning a new part of life, while calling the speaker’s calm behavior “a charade” means it is only a performance. These images contrast what others can see with what the speaker is actually feeling.

The ending does not show that the speaker has fully moved on.
