Ah (Hey, yeah)
I just love this time of year
That most magical, wonderful (Isn't it just?)
Most fantastical, magical time of the year (Don't you love it, boy?)
Season's greetings, brother
Let's spread some cheer (Ayy)
Plastic branches wrapped in tinsel
Nutcrackers and crashing cymbals
Can we all please try to keep it civil?
'Cause the whole damn family's up in here
Quiet in front of the children, grandma)
And that only happens once a year
Let's spread some cheer, toast and cheers)
I'm gonna fill up my plate, I'm gonna fill up my cup
I spill 'em both down my front and then I'ma fill 'em back up
Some years, I just hit a lick, some years, I'm down on my luck
And if I'm up in my feels, I'm gonna sing Bah Humbug
So, Mr. Claus (So, Mr. Claus)
From me and mine to you and yours
And all of yours and yours and yours)
For all this fuss
It can give the gift of giving, but also we're givin' pause
So tell me, tell me, how was yours? (How was yours?)
And all the tantrums thrown, the toys are packed away
The inner child in all of us came out to play
And in the car home, you turn to me and say
It was a perfectly imperfect Christmas Day
The nearest and the dearest, near and far away
Shed a tear and toast to those who passed away
And it's different, somehow it's just the same
The same perfectly imperfect Christmas Day
Yeah, we ate well, we were wasteful, I survey
When I open up the fridge on Boxing Day
And all the leftovers piled up together on a serving plate
And so much more that we can't take (No, no)
It's thirty-eight degrees later on, it'll
Test the air conditioner on the drive home
But we oughta be right, yeah, we oughta be right
It went from full house to empty in just a handful of hours
Bittersweet for grandma, yeah, it went real well
And though we're in a rush and forget it's our holiday
Runnin' low on fuel on the freeway
In the back seat, she was softly sleepin'
I smiled when you looked at me that way
It was a perfectly imperfect Christmas Day
