Rudi Ratlos fiddler supreme
He's gonna play an evergreen
You know he's 80, you think he's bursted
You'd never know 'cause he's so serene
Rudi Ratlos, too much pomade
On what little hair that still remains
Shame, oh shame, shame, oh shame
Berlin in the '30s
He was the only fiddler on the scene
Valentino to every woman around
Musician by appointment only
To Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun
Rudi treads the boards again
The stage he knew so long ago
They dug him out of some old loony's home
Some wily, old geezer, another all-time pro
And the dashing Carl Furor
In his element once more
As he steers old Eleonor
Across the shining floor
The violin so soothing
You see the ladies find it moving
But there's one who's fast asleep
One in adoration starts to weep
When Rudi Ratlos plays the tango
He casts a spell that's not a word
He's such a madman, but such a sweetie
That even bum notes stay unheard
And the dashing Carl Furor
In his element once more
As he steers old Eleonor
Across the shining floor
The violin so soothing
You see the ladies find it moving
But there's one who's fast asleep
One in adoration starts to weep
Crazy rhythm drags you with him
The melody's for you and me
Uh, no way to resist
When Rudi plays a tango like this
