I go to bed early on a Sunday
Hoping that when I wake up
There won't be Monday blues
Cuz I'm thinking 'bout you, I'm thinking 'bout you
I dry my eyes slowly and do my routine
I fry some eggs, drink a cup, I'm trying to eat clean
But inside of my head, there's a diet of
Redwood dreams that are out of reach
I wake up late on a lazy Tuesday
I try to muster the strength to work the pain away
I dry my eyes once again, go through my routine and
Dream of when I'll see a good week
I need a good week
I need a good week
Without you
Without you
As sunlight drops on a hazy Wednesday
I start to think to myself maybe I'll be okay
But then God and his friends, out to get me again
Send a wave of anxiety
The clouds are lifting on a pale Thursday
I do some yoga and try to act all "Namaste"
But as I'm trying to breathe I start to fade and then
Dream of when I'll see a good week
I need a good week
I need a good week
Without you
I need a good week
I need a good week
Without you
Cuz all the days just move at slower paces
Especially when I can't tell what your face says anymore
I don't know it as well anymore
And one day I hope that we'll face all our differences
And one day I hope that we'll get to be friends in this
Friends in this, this crazy world, this messed up world
I treat myself to my favorite ice cream
As it drips down my hand my tears as well they stream
Memories fading away of the glorious days
When we were a solid team
I go to bed early on a Sunday
Knowing that when I wake up I'll have the Monday blues
Cuz I'm still thinking 'bout you
And there's nothing to do
