Lyrics

In 1984 Maggie went to war Against the miners and all of the whites The right wing press that told her lies Coal not Dole Strike not Scab They called on us to lend them a hand Which side were you on? Which side were you on? Generations under the mud Side by side, flesh and blood They were working class heroes back then Fighting the good fight to the end From the hills of Yorkshire To the valleys of Wales Closing the mines and put us in jail Which side were you on? Which side were you on? Stargill and the NUM A choice between us and them The fight for justice destroyed By the thugs that Maggie deployed MacGregor and Thatcher and all of the scum They fought with terror till the battle was won Which side were you on? Which side were you on? Which side were you on? In Orgreave the message was plain The police they set out to maim The miners they fought so strong In another time would have won Kinnock was a sell out living a lie If you're not with the miners the movement will die Which side were you on? Which side were you on? I said which side were you on? Oh, which side were you on?
