When I die, don't you cry, ask the big guy why
Go buy a suit and a tie or a dress
I've had fun, a good run on my trips around the sun
I'm one son of a gun who's been blessed
Just raise up a glass or a flask when I pass
'Cause I ask with my last request
They better have cold beer at my funeral
They better play good country music
When they lay me low
They better have cold beer at my funeral
If they don't, I ain't gonna go
That's right
It's a fact that a black Cadillac hearse
Lacks six packs, so just back my old Chevy
To the door when you're sure I can't pour no more
For my encore tour up to heaven
Bye y'all, that's all, hope you all had a ball
Turnin' my last call up to 11
They better have cold beer at my funeral
They better play good country music
When they lay me low
They better have cold beer at my funeral
If they don't, I ain't gonna go
Here we go!

Well, beer me, the dearly departed
Don't be sad and broken-hearted
Life's been a hell of a party
So, pop a top, pop a top
So the party won't stop
They better have cold beer at my funeral
They better play good country music
When they lay me low
They better have cold beer at my funeral
If they don't, hell, I ain't gonna go
If they don't, I ain't gonna go
No, I ain't
Think I'll just stay home
