Hammer

The speaker feels trapped by people who keep holding on and will not let go. Their frustration builds into anger as those people tease and provoke them. The repeated need for a hammer or rammer suggests a desperate wish to break free or force the pressure to stop.

“Holding me” can mean physical restraint, but it may also describe feeling controlled or prevented from moving forward. “Hammer them down” and “ram them down” use forceful tool images: the speaker imagines pushing back against whatever is bothering them. The repetition makes this desire sound urgent and almost like a chant.

The lyrics do not explain who “they” are or exactly what they are doing, so the source of the conflict remains open. The tools could be literal, but they may more broadly express anger and a wish for release. The speaker’s words sound threatening, yet the song gives little detail about any action; it may be expressing intense frustration rather than describing a real plan.
