Lyrics
Martin, your name will never be forgotten
Saint Martin, your name will never, never be forgotten
And up out the South, there came a man
Trying to spread a little love around this wasted land
He had compassion for his fellow men
Regardless of the colors of their skin
Now I was touched by the things that he would do and say
He told the true believers love would surely make a way
He had a dream of peace and brotherhood
Some called him a prophet, and some misunderstood
But Martin, your name will never, never, never be forgotten
Saint Martin, your name will never be forgotten
Martin, your name will never be forgotten
Saint Martin, your name will never, never be forgotten
After the march to Washington
Everybody figured that his work was done
He left his home and his family
To help some folks in Memphis, Tennessee
I recall the words he spoke just hours before he died
"Well, I've been up to the mountain, children
I've seen the other side"
You live in our hearts like a shining memory
Your life will lead us in our search for unity
And Martin, your name will never, never be forgotten
Saint Martin, your name will never be forgotten
Martin, your name will never be forgotten
Saint Martin, your name will never, never be forgotten
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil, for I know that Thou art with me
Peace be with you, brothers
Peace be with you, sisters
And I'm leaving for a better land, I know
Saint Martin, your name will never be forgotten
Saint Martin, your name will never be forgotten
Saint Martin, your name will never, never, never be forgotten
Saint Martin, your name will never be forgotten, no
And Martin, your name will never, never, never be forgotten
'Til the tenth generation, all over this nation
We will remember
Saint Martin, Saint Martin, Saint Martin, Saint Martin
Saint Martin, Saint Martin, Saint Martin
Will never be forgotten
