You know what the funny thing is?
This whole time that I've been locked inside of a prison
I've been the one holding the keys
Yeah, I've been inside a hole, try'na climb up out
And my passion has been slowly dyin', now
Tell me, where do I go, when I'm cryin' out?
I'm a slave to this game, so I write it out
I lost my best friend, and the girl of my life
I failed so damn much, but continued to fight
I lost composure, but I found the light
If you hold off fear, then you'll pay the price
You see, I got a phone, but no one to call
Believe I'm a problem, they will never solve
They can talk the talk, but can they walk the walk?
I give it all I got, I know they pray I flop
But I ain't gon' stop, 'til I'm up on sway
It's fuck the police, N-W-A
The best you can do, is to duplicate
I'd be the type of artist, that they nominate
I'm on the road to greatness, with an open mind
My flow so dope, make 'em snort a line
Every minute that you hate, is another I grind
I was born to stand out, means I'm one of a kind
Can you hear the passion, up inside my voice?
What you rappin' for, think I got a choice?
Man, shut up, Greg, you have asked for this
Did you come this far, just to call it quits?
I just need someone to tell me, it'll be alright
If you don't like where I be headed
Why you on my flight?
You told me you would never leave
Was such a fuckin' lie
'Cause now, you're gone
I'm on my own
But I'm still doin' fine
I just wanna be successful
I just want somethin' real
I don't need fake, around me
You don't care how I feel
I just wanna be successful
I just want somethin' real
I don't need fake, around me
You don't care how I feel
A couple years back, I could barely pay rent
I would gather up pennies, just so I could make cents
They would tell me that my stupid dreams, never made sense
Now the same ones hatin', be congratulatin'
They'd be hitting me up like
Bro, how you doing?
We should spit it, sometime
I really think you're improvin'
I kind of rap, too
But the weed's more important
I'm sorry that I doubted
Can't wait 'til you're tourin'
All your fake love, man, I can do without
I got my mindset, focused on the paper route
Screw your advice, I'll listen to my gut
When the going gets rough
My fans'll back me up
It's real music, 'til the day we die
I would never sell out, just to make a quick buck
Hands on my head, sayin', no, it can't be
Thank you, for tellin' me, that I should get fucked
I just need someone to tell me, it'll be alright
If you don't like where I be headed
Why you on my flight?
You told me you would never leave
Was such a fuckin' lie
'Cause, now, you're gone
I'm on my own
But I'm still doing fine
I just wanna be successful
I just want somethin' real
I don't need fake, around me
You don't care how I feel
I just wanna be successful
I just want something real
I don't need fake, around me
You don't care how I feel
I just need someone to tell me, it'll, tell‐tell‐tell-tell
I just wanna be successful
I just wanna be, 'cessful-successful
If you don't like where I'd be headed
Why you on, mah‐mah‐mah-my flight?
I just wanna be successful
I just wanna be successful
