Uh, check it out
We gon' do this one time for my niggas on the corner
Not like I totally agree with you
But dog, a nigga sure understand you
Like damn, this one goes for the rest, check it out
I'm in a daze, and now, I'm thinking of evil
Wondering what would it be like
To step outside and just start shooting people
I mean the mailman and all of my neighbors
'Cause after all, this is what's considered as nigga's behavior
I'm considered a nigga, or an Afro-American
I'm colored or tall, baby, or some type of black specimen
Look to myself as locked in poverty
With your society trying to give me welfare to quiet me
Thinking I'll take it and be pleased
That's where they're wrong, you gotta do better than free cheese (why?)
I want a Benzo on Lorenzos (uh)
Don't know how to get this shit myself, but my friends know
After all, they got leathers and rags
Benzers and Beamers, Maximas, Jags
And I can't even buy a wagon
Not even a little red car that them white kids be dragging
Just say no, used to sing the song proud
Now, I'm starting to envy the lifestyle of the wrong crowd
Is that crowd wrong? I ain't sure no more
See, the money ain't pure, but it damn sure can cure
All of the problems that the government won't look at
They give me shit, I like the shit, and then the shit is took back
That's why I show no more precautions
My life ain't worth a wooden nickel at an auction
My mother told me jail, or hell, is where I'll lay
In reality, I may go to both of them bitches anyway
So why take the long way out?
Man, I want presidents in my pocket like my pants was the White House
The lifestyle of the rich and the famous (uh)
Quick and the shameless (uh) the sick and the painless (damn)
Coming home with all A's and B's
Ain't gon' never come close to coming home with just G's
Do I have enough money? Nope
This is what tells the young man that it's time to sell dope
Take two (uh)
Look at it this way, my girlfriend's stomach is plump
The truth about Smooth will be spoken in three months
Am I a man or a mouse?
Well, I ain't shit, 'cause I still live in my mother's house
My girlfriend ain't worried, 'cause shit, her parents gon' take care
But that ain't shy, when we was fucking, it wasn't there
So I'm gon' go get me a job
But will I work for the government or for the mob?
See, the mob job's to hurt and kill folk
But the government is doing the same fucking thing
So they real close
But which one is gonna pay me the most?
Working for white folks or selling dope?
Fuck it, I'm no longer stuck
'Cause man, I'd rather run in front my Benz
Instead of chase behind a garbage truck
I'll take a left turn on Pavey Street
So my kid could have some Jordans on her little baby feet
My family lives life in luxury
I'd paid the sheriff a little, so now, them boys won't fuck with me
Don't tell me this can't happen, 'cause it happens every day
While they say crime don't pay
'Cause that's what they feed to the public
That old "nigga supposed to plant cotton" ass subject
Tell us you gon' stop drugs, but you don't wanna
'Cause half of your green shit comes from drug runners
Half of my partners are capping and strapping, and packing
I'm only making big bucks at concerts rapping
After it's over, barely can speak
And the pay I make that day, they quadruple in less than a week
Think about it, they're getting paid doing nothing
Just don't smoke yourself, or you'll get broke quicker than Teddy Ruxpin (uh)
When you don't smoke, truck got ground effects
Leather interior (uh) you out of the projects
Shit, I could deal with that, tired of being broke
So fuck it, this is what tells the young man to sell dope
Yeah, see, this is the problem
It all boils down to -, is it a black thing, or it is yourself thing?
What I'm saying is drugs is a form of survival to some people
The only way one can survive
They say you're killing your own people
And you are killing your own people, but the question is
Who are you worried about letting survive
Your motherfucking self or your race? (Check it out)
