Lyrics
On the 6th of August 1945
A Boeing B-29 Superfortress took off from
the Tinian Island in the Pacific
Carrying an awesome new weapon
weighing almost 10, 000 pounds and
containing 140 pounds of deadly uranium-235.
The bomb was code-named "Little Boy"
The target for the mission:
Hiroshima
Enola Gay, you should have stayed at home yesterday
A-ha words can't describe
The feeling and the way you lied
These games you play
They're gonna end in more than tears someday
A-ha Enola Gay, it shouldn't ever have to end this waaaay
It's 8: 15, and that's the time that it's always been
We got your message on the radio;
Conditions normal and you're coming home.
Enola Gay, is mother proud of Little Boy today
A-ha this kiss you give
It's never ever gonna fade away
The bomb load was released over it 's target at O9: 15 hours at an altitude of 31, 000 feet.
Little Boy exploded 800 feet above the target with the equivalent force of 20, 000 tons of TNT
Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.
Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds.
