Long ago
I was called your friend
Now we're through
But you were hard to bend
Remember when I gave you the moon, you said
"I want the sun"
So clean up your thinking, your world is so stinking
And it's time (la, la, la, la)
It's time to go (la, la, la, la)
The skies are low
You can grab for the moon for fun
But never try to catch the sun
This story tells
Of hate, love and fear (la, la, la)
His story smells
Of rumors we can hear (la, la, la)
I'll never understand why you went on
The way you did
But some day you'll find in the back of your mind
That it is time (la, la, la, la)
It's time to go (la, la, la, la)
The skies are low
You can grab for the moon for fun
But never try to catch the sun
T'was a time
We weren't very on (la, la, la)
At this time
This story wasn't told (la, la, la)
And you kept asking me
But even if you begged a thousand times
I would never tell the story
Did it matter how much glory I could get? (La, la, la, la)
And now it's time to go (la, la, la, la)
The skies are low
You can grab for the moon for fun
But never try to catch the sun
You can grab for the moon for fun
But never try to catch the sun
