Liquor store on Baker Street
Crossing our fingers on a fake ID
Somehow Joe pulled off, he was 25
We met up for one more party
Tom was leaving for the Army
Lit up that fire and went all night
The last time the boys were all together
Made the beer taste better
Summertime rolled around
Driving through town with the windows down
Temperature says 95
Six-pack on a Saturday
Laid out on a river bank
Sure gets hot here in July
Something 'bout that kind of weather
Made the beer taste better
There are moments in my life
When it hits me just right
Like a cover band in a smokey bar
Mama tried and your cheatin' heart
Songs like that live on forever
And make the beer taste better
ย
The drinks she served got me drunk
And when she smiled, I fell in love
She put her number in my phone
She worked late on Tuesday nights
I'd stick around 'til closing time
So she wouldn't be alone
Ever since the night I first met her
The beer taste better
There are moments in my life
When it hits me just right
Grandpa drank 'em from the can
Sure do miss that man
But someday, we'll be back together
Where the beer tastes better
Where the beer tastes better
Someday, we'll be back together
Where the beer tastes better
