Colors (Toyota‘wish’电视广告曲)

The lyrics describe someone trying to choose a direction and keep creating, even when the future feels unclear. At first, freedom seems confusing: when told they can go anywhere, every sign looks gray. The speaker then shifts toward determination, urging someone to keep imagining and painting. Later, memories of meeting and sharing an evening with another person bring tenderness, but also regret. By the end, the speaker sounds changed and more self-reliant.

Several images make these feelings concrete. A canvas stands for the freedom to shape one’s life, while a dry brush suggests that inspiration or confidence may be running low. The blue umbrella is an imaginative response to a missing blue sky: if the desired world is absent, one can create a version of it. The white flag usually suggests surrender, but here it is raised only when someone gives up, so the speaker rejects giving in. Red appears as boldness and attraction, in the image of a bullfighter and in the trace of lipstick.

The lyrics can be read as encouragement to begin again after uncertainty or disappointment. The relationship may have ended, or simply changed; the lines do not explain exactly what happened. The final claim of having a color the other person does not know suggests both distance and growth: the speaker has become someone new, though the tone may still carry sadness.
