Lyrics
Hopped in your car and we drove by the bar
With our legs covered up by the blanket
That my mother knit for me
Still feelin' a winter chill in April
When spring rolls around I'll drive into town
And wake up the man who stands on the corner
And yells to slow down, gives us a frown
But we laugh in his face and speed off
I am the one that looks back
I am the one that remembers
In all the gaps that I lack
I'll still remember
The 5th of December
Summer is fast and we're wasting our gas
Climb up a mountain to watch the big sunset
Beers in our hand, but don't worry mom and dad
We never drove with them
Autumn is cool, all my friends are in school
Depression sets in, but I'm holding in there
Is a town where my heart settles down
Where I find all my answers?
I am the one that looks back
I am the one that remembers
In all the gaps that I lack
I'll still remember
The 5th of December
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
I am the one that looks back
I am the one that remembers
In all the gaps that I lack
I'll still remember
The 5th of December
