Lyrics meaning
The speaker challenges someone else to talk about love only after knowing Lola. He then describes a sexual encounter in exaggerated, comic language. The mood is boastful and provocative, but the increasingly absurd comparisons make the speaker sound more like a joker than a sincere romantic.
Several images turn desire into comic spectacle. Saying he “filled her up like” an aircraft suggests sexual energy and flight, while the plane’s journey toward African skies adds a grand, exotic flourish. Lola’s eyes are compared to those of an Abyssinian cat, and her breasts to spheres; these descriptions show the speaker viewing her body through extravagant metaphors. The reference to Ulysses and his stake makes the encounter sound mock-epic, as if a sexual act were an adventure from classical myth.
The lyrics are deliberately crude and may be intended to shock or amuse, but their tone is not entirely clear: the speaker’s confidence could be a pose, and the surreal details make his account seem less like a realistic memory than a comic fantasy. Lola is mostly presented through the speaker’s gaze, so the song offers little sense of her own thoughts or feelings. The repeated “Rasta” refrain reinforces the playful, chant-like quality without explaining much about the relationship.
