I know where the gospel truth, ought to be being spread
Down at some local taverns where I've seen some walking dead
I'm not judging when I say, they need to hear God's word
You can't walk a straight and narrow way, if you've never heard
ย
I'm gonna start a bar room, beer joint, honky-tonk church
Gonna preach the gospel, message, chapter and verse
We'll sing some hymns, clap our hands, do whatever works
Down at the bar room, beer joint, honky-tonk church
ย
We'll sing old Hank Williams songs, like "I Fly Away"
Turn up the jukebox really loud, for "Amazing Grace"
Singing Jesus loves me and this I know, kneel and pray out loud
Thank you Lord, for being here, for this rough and rowdy crowd

You know I can't speak for Jesus, but I think he'd love this crowd
He'd probably tell some stories about the rich, the poor, the proud
And I know he would offer them, a life beyond the grave
They may be worthless sinners, but ain't that who he came to save?
