Lyrics meaning
The speaker describes a visit to a dinosaur attraction that turns into a frightening escape. At first, the cloned dinosaurs seem like an exciting result of science, but they soon run loose and threaten the visitors. The speaker’s mood shifts from surprise to fear, anger, and finally a firm decision never to return. The humor comes from treating a wildly dangerous adventure as simply a “lousy day” or a “crummy weekend.”
Several phrases add comic meaning. “Running wild” means being uncontrolled, while “let them out of his pen” suggests the T. rex is like a dangerous animal kept in a cage. The line about the dinosaurs thinking the speaker is “their dinner, not their friend” makes the danger blunt and absurd. Calling the trip “no e-ticket” compares it to an amusement-park ride, but suggests it is not worth the excitement or cost.
The lyrics exaggerate the dangers for comedy, so the speaker’s complaints are not meant as a calm, realistic report. The remark that the tyrannosaurus ate the lawyer is a dark joke: the speaker oddly treats this as a small consolation, without explaining why. “Chaos theory” may refer generally to disorder spreading when systems fail, rather than making a precise scientific argument. Overall, the song mixes adventure, fear, and sarcastic amusement.
