Lyrics meaning

The lyrics create a sequence of dark horror scenes rather than one continuous story. They move from a group carrying out a night-time ritual, to warnings about disturbing ancient tombs, and then to a speaker who claims to be trapped by Satan. The later sections become more direct and threatening, with invitations into a coven and a narrator who delights in causing suffering. The emotional tone is theatrical, menacing, and deliberately extreme.

Several images help build that atmosphere. The moon โ€œfrozen blueโ€ suggests a cold, unnatural night, while the long black coats sheltering the group from rain make them seem secretive and determined. The โ€œcurse of the pharaohsโ€ is presented as a warning: stealing from the dead brings consequences that can ruin someoneโ€™s future. A โ€œcorpse without soulโ€ suggests a person who has lost their humanity or freedom, not necessarily a literal dead body. Likewise, being โ€œtrapped in his spellโ€ implies control that the speaker cannot escape.

The lyrics can be read as supernatural horror, but also as exaggerated performance: their shocking claims and repeated invitations create a sinister character and mood. The speakerโ€™s evil identity is stated confidently, yet the line about being trapped complicates that image; he may be powerful, helpless, or both. The lyrics leave this tension unresolved, and their scenes need not describe a realistic sequence of events.
