When I first laid eyes on you I swore I'd do anything
Let ya clean me up, fix me up just to get you to wear my weddin' ring
But now I'm havin' second thoughts and I'm writing you this letter
'Cause I'm scared to tell ya to your face: I liked the old me better
I liked the old me better, I was a lot more fun
I liked the old me better, I didn't take crap from anyone
Well, I'd sleep all day, party all night
Did whatever I wanted, whatever I liked
You made me a brand new man but I liked the old me better
You know, I got to say it ain't that bad and I appreciate your work
I don't drink too much, don't swear as much, you made me go to church
But I ain't done much talkin' since the day we got together
But I'm a different man because a-you but I liked the old me better, ooh
I liked the old me better, I was a lot more fun
I liked the old me better, I didn't take crap from anyone
Well, I'd sleep all day, party all night
Do whatever I wanted, whenever I liked
You made me a brand new man but I liked the old me better
No doubt about it
You're the only one
And I know you really love
The man that I've become
But I liked the old me better, yeah, I was a lot more fun
I liked the old me better, I didn't take crap from anyone
Well, I'd sleep all day, party all night
Do whatever I wanted, whatever I liked
You made me a brand new man but I liked the old me better
Well, I've got to say that you're the only one that I've ever loved
You and I, we're a good fit, we're like a hand in glove
But now I'm settin' here lookin' back, wearin' this stupid sweater
Truth be told, I got to say, I liked the old me better, yeah
I liked the old me better, I was a lot more fun
I liked the old me better, didn't take crap from anyone
Well, I'd sleep all day, I'd party all night
Do whatever I wanted whenever I liked
You made me a brand new man but I liked the old me better
You made me a brand new man but I
That's me
I liked the old me better
