All This Is That

The lyrics present a speaker describing inner peace and a sense of unity with other people and the wider world. The mood moves through daybreak and dusk, suggesting that this feeling is present at different times of life or throughout the day. Repeated lines about “I,” “you,” and “all this” being the same make the song feel meditative, like a simple phrase used to focus the mind.

Several images express this peaceful state. The “pool of peace inside” suggests calmness found within oneself, rather than in the outside world. “Life supporting waves of bliss” compares happiness or spiritual comfort to waves that carry and sustain a person. The “light of wisdom” and wisdom “warming as the sun” portray understanding as something that guides and comforts. “Mother Divine” may suggest a loving spiritual presence, though the lyrics do not explain exactly what it means.

The repeated idea “I am that, thou art that, and all this is that” can be read as a claim that people and everything around them share a deeper unity. “Two ways and I both travel by” is less clear: it may refer to balancing two approaches to life or moving between ordinary experience and inner reflection. The song offers these ideas as a personal spiritual feeling, not as a detailed argument, so listeners may understand its language in different ways.
