Tarzan Boy

The lyrics create a playful picture of someone living freely in a jungle, far from ordinary life and familiar places. At first, the speaker seems alone, imagining a wild adventure; later, they invite someone else to join them. The repeated request for “the other world” suggests a desire for escape or a fresh experience, while the lively refrain keeps the mood energetic rather than sad.

Several images make this imagined life vivid. “Like Tarzan” suggests independence and a close connection with the forest, without necessarily describing a literal person in the jungle. “Hide and seek” and “monkey business” give the adventure a mischievous, childlike quality; here, “monkey business” means playful activity, not serious trouble. The fire sending a signal into the sky may represent the speaker trying to reach someone distant and wondering whether that person will respond.

The lyrics balance solitude with invitation: the speaker says they are alone, then imagines sharing this open life with another person. “You won’t miss home” sounds reassuring, but it may also show how strongly the speaker wants the other person to leave familiar comforts behind. The jungle can be understood as a real setting within the song’s fantasy, or more broadly as a symbol of freedom and escape.
