All of this music that we've been playing
I was originally conceiving and writing for the orchestra
For the films and various occasions for which the music was written
And until two days ago I never heard my own music
Orchestrally conceived, played by a wind ensemble
And that's quite a transition to make
And this trip has been facilitated by four outstanding gentlemen
Who took the orchestral scores and reworked them
With such skill and felicity and love
That the music comes out sounding to me more than familiar
And I really want to thank them
Our Steve Bulla, who is a member of the Marine Band
And Jay Beau Cook and John Moss and Paul Lavender
All of Hal Leonard Publications
Have done these transcriptions with such care and accuracy
And great musical scholarship really
That they really, I'm very much indebted to them
And we'd like to play now
Perhaps in many ways the most difficult piece to transcribe
From orchestra to this setting
The theme from Schindler's List
And we'll play that now
And we have your own great soloist from the Marine Band
To play the solo part
Please welcome Peter Wilson
