In this modern day of living
My, how things have changed
People often get religion
But their heart remains the same
They go to church, they testify
But what an awful fate
To find they have no real salvation
But we'll be too late
Well, I went down to an old camp meeting
(Well, I went down to an old camp meeting)
I prayed through in the old time way
(Yes, I prayed through in the old time way)
Oh, it was there at an old time altar
(Oh, it was there at an old time altar)
I was saved by amazing grace
(Yes, I was saved by amazing grace)
I confessed my sinful living
I was sorry for my sin
I opened up my heart to heaven
Then my God came in
Now, I'm an heir to a home in heaven
(Now, I'm an heir to a home in heaven)
I believe in the old time way
(Yes, I believe in the old time way)
Well, I went down to an old camp meeting
(Well, I went down to an old camp meeting)
I prayed through in the old time way
(Yes, I prayed through in the old time way)
Oh, it was there at an old time altar
(Oh, it was there at an old time altar)
I was saved by amazing grace
(Yes, I was saved by amazing grace)
Well, I believe, believe in the old time way
I believe, believe, believe that's what it's gonna take
Well, I believe, believe in the old time way
I believe, believe, believe He'll take me home to stay
Well, I believe, believe in the old time way
I believe, believe, believe that's what it's gonna take
Well, I believe, believe in the old time way
I believe, believe, believe He'll take me home to stay
Well, I believe, believe in the old time way
I believe, believe, believe that's what it's gonna take
Well, I believe, believe in the old time way
I believe, believe, believe He'll take me home to stay
Well, I believe, believe in the old time way
I believe, believe, believe that's what it's gonna take
Well, I believe, believe in the old time way
I believe, believe, believe He'll take me home to stay
