Lyrics
I looked over Jordan and what did I see?
Walking in Jerusalem just like John
A band of angels coming after me
Walking in Jerusalem just like John
I want to be ready
I want to be ready
I want to be ready, Lord
To walk in Jerusalem just like John
I'm sometimes up and I'm sometimes down
Walking in Jerusalem just like John
But I know that my soul is heaven bound
Walking in Jerusalem just like John
I want to be ready
I want to be ready
I want to be ready, Lord
To walk in Jerusalem just like John
If you get there before I do
Walking in Jerusalem just like John
Tell my friends I'm a-coming too
Walking in Jerusalem just like John
I want to be ready
I want to be ready
I want to be ready, Lord
To walk in Jerusalem just like John
Some came crippled and some came lame
Walking in Jerusalem just like John
But they all came a-walking in Jesus' name
Walking in Jerusalem just like John
I want to be ready
I want to be ready
I want to be ready, Lord
To walk in Jerusalem just like John
I heard Jacob and Moses and Elijah too
Walking in Jerusalem just like John
Saying, "Hello, brother, you've made it too"
Walking in Jerusalem just like John
I want to be ready
I want to be ready
I want to be ready, Lord
To walk in Jerusalem just like John
