Bitch

The speaker describes a restless, confused mixture of sensations: tired yet unable to explain why, hungry after eating, and energized without drinking. These contradictions give the song a playful, unsettled feeling. When someone calls or touches the speaker, that confusion becomes intense physical excitement, and the repeated refrain suggests the speaker sees this overwhelming attraction as love—or perhaps as something difficult and troublesome.

Several images make the feelings vivid. “Salivate like a Pavlov dog” compares the speaker’s automatic response to a learned reaction: hearing the person’s name is enough to trigger desire. A heart louder than a “big bass drum” suggests excitement so strong it seems impossible to ignore. The speaker’s changing behavior—sometimes confident and sexually bold, sometimes shy and lacking “bark or bite”—shows how attraction can make someone feel powerful one moment and uncertain the next.

The refrain calls love “a bitch,” a blunt, informal way to say it can be frustrating or hard to manage, not necessarily that love is entirely bad. The lyrics also mention “luck,” leaving open whether the speaker thinks this intense feeling is romantic, accidental, or simply part of life’s unpredictable mix. The final repeated exclamations offer little resolution; they keep the energy high rather than explaining the relationship.
