I'm chasing a butterfly, where will it go?
Past all the flowers, red, white and yellow
Up on the swan plant it decides to land
Oh, if I could fly like that it would be grand
Beautiful butterfly has laid an egg
I wave bye-bye as it flies 'round my head
Something magic happens when I turn back
The beautiful butterfly's egg has now hatched
Out of the egg comes a caterpillar
He eats green leaves for what feels like forever
Then we venture into the garden and meet
Some lovely bugs having a garden party
Miss Ladybug with her red spotty back
Dances with bumblebee, yellow and black
Caterpillar's eating all he can eat
He grows so huge then says it's time to leave
Caterpillar takes us back to the start
Soon he's a chrysalis on the swan plant
My insect friends tell me, "Oh, you just wait
Until you see how caterpillar has changed"
And out of the chrysalis before my eyes
Comes not caterpillar but a butterfly
We say goodbye to our friends on the land
And fly off together, oh, life is so grand
