The lyrics begin with a relaxed, communal life close to nature, where the speakers feel free and connected through music. That ease changes when they wake to a “bad scene” and feel far from home. Dancing brings them together, but the Empress’s arrival introduces a darker, more uncertain mood. The repeated refrain then restores a sense of resilience: even when someone predicts bad weather, the group chooses to celebrate being alive.

Several images suggest inner struggle without explaining it literally. “Left the road and the map behind” can mean abandoning familiar plans and choosing an uncertain path. The Empress claims to control where “bad thoughts” go, while the “seeds” that could make them grow suggest that troubling thoughts may begin within people themselves. The “golden key” seems to promise an easy escape, but may be only an illusion.
