I was, raised in Irvington born in Brooklyn,
I looked in the eyes of these covards n hooked em,
N knockt em of they two feet i dropped em,
Hoped in those cars with the two seats
I locked em, poped them
The kids that was to beat i boxed them
My click was only to deep i had to watch them
Who what you talking to me, my boy *clackton?*,
Back then was EPMD, Kayne n *rock kem?*, Slick Rick
Cared us once stayed in top 10
Before that Run D.M.C n *up rocky?* Yep
I had a dream n the microphone
All the girls yous'd to say Jerome i like your pome
And then i jused to say back girl i like your tone
Your a precious little stone that i'd like to own
Now, since the lad i've been writin these raps
I'd preform in the clubs starting figthing it back for dough
Back in those days, now ringing in back,
Keepin my faith, how long i try,
Oh back in those days the temptaitons were riased
Keeping my promise, im digging my way back,
"My way back..."
This is broken life i need another game,
My brian has gone to hard and manifest the hurrycane
My thoughts rain, if not the mind dies,
You try to catch up without wings n time flies.
So i rap on the track n doupt wise
To see what you at, look back without eyes.
The whine for mine then you gain full sight,
If you loose a boy you gotta learn from the lost fight.
Choose every memory like hidden energy,
Then eventuality you'll se what's comin likte telephaty.
A sumplexaty recipe the future hurt the past 'n remedy
Monumental tresury n fine integrity,
Remember see in your mind a time that was heavenly
An entady real fine memory n molody.
So when the days are long keep blazing on,
Cuz the music we make time is like your favourite song.
Back in those days, now ringing in back.
Keepin my faith, how long i try.
Oh back in those days the temptaitons were riased.
Keeping my promise, im digging my way back.
"My way back..."
I watch a new Jack CD dreams is holdin the hammers,
I ask my momma for a sandwitch, peanut butter bananas.
She had to, throw the jelly out, kids is actin jelly now,
Cops tap my celly now, them haters try to sell me out.
I had a *dopeman pincher?* and his aim was us.
I never thougt id catch a felonys for sellin drugs.
First time soccer feild, sitch to two hand touch,
18'th birthday two hands, two handcuffs.
Grown man stuffs im dealing with, feelin the track,
Egeer at the head station, got stabbed in the back.
Kid stuff like you got my back i got yours,
Smokin fat one to the head, then i fell in the floor.
We used to be trick or treatin now i got label meatings,
King dome, king cone and im ice-creaming.
Never had a job, stacking chewbacks wast the new hobby,
Fought Mike *roarse?* 8'the grade he caught two bodies.
Back in those days, now ringing in back.
Keepin my faith, how long i try.
Oh back in those days the temptaitons were riased.
Keeping my promise, im digging my way back.
"My way back..."
