Cheerleader

The singer describes feeling secure and encouraged because of his partner. He presents her as someone who supports him whenever he needs help. His joking answer, “No, not really,” to whether other women make him feel like cheating can sound reassuring, though it is less emphatic than a simple “no.” The song may therefore be heard as playful romantic praise, with a slightly self-focused tone. It does not tell us how the partner sees the relationship, so the singer’s confidence should not be taken as the whole story.
