We are the salt of the earth
If the salt has lost its taste, it's good for nothing
But to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men
I'd rather gouge my eyes out
Than continue to see
How we never grew from where we've been
Written in blood on the tablet of our hearts
We are meant to offer the oppressed a peace and love unwavering
Don't acquaint me with eternal things -
Give me the power to acquaint everybody with the comfort of living
The gentle simplicity of a home
The simplicity of food on a plate
We edify a denial of the evil
Of the colonizing hatred of a capitalist wasteland
I love all of my brothers and sisters on this earth
And I believe they all deserve to be safe and free
And I would fucking kill anyone who chooses to disagree
