Lyrics
Behind the wire burned the fire of a generation, loyalty they would prove
They took a chance and pledged their lives to serve under the number 100/442
If questioned why they'd rather to die than lose the sacred honor
Of their family name
A quiet pride would change the tide and make a grateful nation, if they live to see the day
Misplaced suspicion of blamะต
But they were patriots all thะต same
Their nation in need
They went to find their place to be
A second class as some believed
And yet they fought so valiantly
A day of rest the call came in to save a lost battalion
Two attempts had been made
Deep in the Vosges they'll go for broke and face a week of fighting, never losing their fame
One by one a leveled gun a screaming charge advancing
Hajiro leading the way
Spilling their blood over the mud to save 200 Texans
And their legend was made
So many would pay the price
But they had more than one war to fight
Their nation in need
They went to find their place to be
A second class as some believed
And yet they fought so valiantly
