Starlight

The lyrics describe someone using drugs to escape boredom, pain, and ordinary life. At first, the pills seem to offer freedom and excitement, but the repeated use leads toward stronger danger. The speaker sounds worried and warns their friend that the escape may end in death. The emotional movement is from tempting hope to fear and tragedy.

“Flying on invisible wings” suggests feeling lifted or transported, though the freedom is an illusion. The journey toward the sun gives the drug experience a bright, almost heavenly quality, but getting too close burns the wings: pleasure becomes destruction. “Starlight” may represent a brief feeling of beauty or spiritual release, shining into the person’s eyes and seeming to raise the soul.

The song presents drug use as both alluring and dangerous, rather than simply describing the user as bad. The speaker recognizes why escape might feel appealing, but stresses that its effects are temporary and can become fatal. The repeated image of starlight is somewhat ambiguous: it could be the user’s imagined hope, the intensity of the experience, or a symbol of the life and dignity the speaker wants them to recover.
