Lyrics meaning

The speaker feels rejected by society and believes its institutions have failed them. At first, the anger sounds like a response to being excluded and controlled: they say they did what was expected, but now something within them has awakened. The emotion grows from resentment into a threatening fantasy of destruction. By the end, the speaker insists they were never truly part of the group they oppose.

The image of something inside โ€œopening its eyesโ€ suggests a force or feeling becoming conscious, perhaps anger that had been hidden or suppressed. Calling it โ€œthe cancer in your systemโ€ reverses the usual idea of illness: the speaker presents themself as a harmful presence within a corrupt society. โ€œFlock of sheepโ€ compares the people below to animals that follow without questioning, while โ€œburn this whole world downโ€ may express a wish to destroy the existing order rather than describe a literal plan.

The lyrics leave the nature of this inner force unclear. It could be rage, rebellion, or a darker impulse that the speaker can no longer contain. The final claims to be both โ€œsaviourโ€ and โ€œcorruptionโ€ create a striking contradiction: the speaker may see themself as exposing or ending a broken system, yet also admits to being part of its destruction. The repeated denial of belonging could be sincere, defiant, or both.
