Lyrics
It's nice when singers are remembered after death
Nice to know people don't forget
Music is eternal
But why we always have to wait 'til after dem die?
When dem living we can do it
Make dem reap the benefit of the music
Macka. B pon dem case
Support dem when dey are living
Nuh just big dem up when dem gone
Support dem when dey are living
Cho make the vibes carry on
One thing me can't take and one thing me hate
When a singer dead, every deejay a talk 'bout the late great
But some of dem never play the singer tune inna the first place
Pon 45, never mind a dubplate
We haffi let that dem mental state
No one no haffi dead before you call dem great
When the singer did a try and couldn't get the bligh
The support woulda well appreciate
So, support dem when dey are living
Nuh just big dem up when dem gone
Support dem when dey are living
Make dem vibes carry on
It's a bad habit and we must stop it
We haffi get out of that mentality
Talking 'bout giving when people are living
Not just when dem dead and buried
'Cause people are dead and don't know how much dem respected
Never knew how much they was rated
When they were living it was not stated
People waited 'til they were cremated
Support dem when dey are living
Nuh just big dem up when dem gone
Support dem when dey are living
Make dem vibes carry on
Remembrance good after a death
Glad to know people don't forget
Funds can raise, money can make
A nice likkle present the family a get
The only thing that I man regret is
Why, why, why we haffi wait 'til death?
If we did give dem the support dem deserve when the music a make
The family woulda set
Support dem when dey are living
Nuh just big dem up when dem gone
Support dem when dey are living
Cho make the vibes carry on
Here's an example of what me talking
Everybody know Bob Marley, the reggae king
From music he make a couple shilling
But he make a lot more since passing
'Cause when Bob was alive and kicking
X amount of people never check for him
As soon as him dead, no longer living
Dem same ones start fi boast him
Me say, support dem when dey are living
Nuh just big dem up when dem gone
Support dem when dey are living
Cho make the vibes carry on
Support dem when dey are living
Nuh just big dem up when dem gone
Support dem when dey are living
And make dem vibes carry on
One thing me can't take and one thing me hate
When a singer dead, every deejay a talk 'bout the late great
But some of dem never play the singer tune inna the first place
Pon 45, never mind a dubplate
We haffi let that dem mental state
No one no haffi dead before you call dem great
When the singer did a try and couldn't get the bligh
The support woulda well appreciate
So, support dem when dey are living
Nuh just big dem up when dem gone
Support dem when dey are living
Cho make the vibes carry on
Support dem when dey are living
Nuh just big dem up when dem gone
Support dem when dey are living
That a the way we fi gwaan
If you love a singer music, support dem
Nuh just tape dem, buy one or two of dem
And if dem deh bout, go watch dem
'Cause you might not see dem again
