Lyrics
Lost on the river
Dark is the night
I wish there was a time Miss Audrey could hold Katie's hand
Say darlin' girl, Grandmother's listening
You've got power within
I wish there was a place Hank couldn't know
Sambo understands
I too may be of good intentions
But can get out of hand
I wish there was a time Miss Audrey could hold Katie's hand
Say darlin' girl, Grandmother's here to help you with your brand
Oh, I'm only kidding, Ma, do you feel my ear?
I am your friend
Hey T-BOB girl, don't you know I've
Watched you since the day that you began?
From our hilltop mansion porch in heaven
Where your granddaddy shoots cans
I wish there was a place Hank couldn't know
Sambo understands
I too may be of good intentions
But can get out of hand
And ain't you proud that boy Bocephus became such a great man?
Sambo, son, I'll have your daddy know that I'm his biggest fan
And keep on truckin' through your trials
You're cursed but blessed beyond comprehend
I wish there was a time Miss Audrey could hold Katie's hand
