A cross by the highway and a plastic bouquet
The spot where a young soul was taken that day
He was a good kid, that's what they say
On the cross by the highway with a plastic bouquet
Up through the Crestwynds speeding for town
That's where they found him, thrown out on the ground
He held on for hours, suffering in pain
By the time he was found, he had suffered in vain
A cross by the highway and a plastic bouquet
The spot where their mothers have all stopped to pray
They'll never forget him, that's what they say
By the cross on the highway with a plastic bouquet
Where a small four-door car was severed in two
Three girls were killed by a boy they all knew
Out for a party they'd never attend
Pockets with money they never would spend
A cross by the highway and a plastic bouquet
The spot where their mothers have all stopped to pray
They'll never forgive him, that's what they say
By the cross on the highway with a plastic bouquet
ย
Now, listen, good people, please take my heed
For the sake of your mothers, I humbly plead
Take care on the road 'cause you could some day
Be a cross by the highway with a plastic bouquet
