Danish Yuletide is a fabulous time
Our traditions are simply sublime
We have "Nisses" we have "Hygge"
We have candlelight and wine
So, this you must remember!
Come to Denmark in December
It is not because it is dark and wet and cold
It is a fantasy feast with customs - very old
We are full of joy and magic themes
In the misty dark December
The Nisse is a fabulous elf
You must see the signs of it yourself
It may help you; it may tease you
It may show you the line
Ohh this you must remember!
Come to Denmark in December
A Nisse may be hundreds of years old
When you learn more about them - you'll be sold
We are decorating every street
Serving all the best of sweets
All year long our Nisses live here
During Yuletide, their footsteps we hear
If they do not get rice pudding
They may - hide your stocking
OHH this you must remember!
Come to Denmark in December
We'll make paper hearts and decorate a pine
We'll put almonds and spices - in hot wine
It's time for love and cosiness
In this candlelight December
