China In Your Hand

The lyrics tell of a dream or plan that becomes more powerful than expected. At first, it seems connected to possibility and ambition, but the mood turns cautionary: wishes may come true in ways a person cannot control. The repeated warning suggests that getting what you want can also bring unwanted consequences.

“China in your hand” compares dreams to delicate china—something beautiful but fragile, which can break if handled carelessly. “A flight on the wings of a young girl’s dreams” suggests imagination taking off and going farther than intended. The lines about a prophecy and a vivid mind imply that an idea may begin as fantasy but start to feel real or fated.

The story’s details are mysterious: it mentions a man in command, a foreign land, greed, and a life taken, but does not explain exactly what happened. One interpretation is that the lyrics warn against ambition without responsibility. They may also suggest that people cannot always predict what their hopes will set in motion. The dreams are not presented as simply bad; rather, the song leaves open whether the danger comes from dreaming itself or from pushing a dream too far.
