Oscillations
Crystal circuit
An audio experience designed to assist and recognizing, amplifying and stabilizing your personal oscillatory rate
In this exercise we will combine several bits of information with this intent in mind
It is best to hold the quartz crystal during this meditation
You may also use your imagination if no crystals are available
An oscillation is, in short, a vibration or resonance, an expansion and contraction, a motion in one direction and then a movement in the reverse
Ocean tides, string musical instruments, clock pendulums, and brain waves are examples of oscillating phenomena
Perhaps the most useful to humans is the quartz crystal oscillator
An electronic circuit used in many devices including watches, smartphones, and computers
When an alternating current or pressure is applied, quartz crystals will alter their shape and vibrate
The signal is then amplified and fed back
This is the piezoelectric effect
In this way, information can be carried with stability and timing can be capped with a high degree of accuracy
The structure of quartz is extremely stable and the size and cut of the crystal determines its resonant frequency
Humans are similar, and that each one is sized and shaped differently with their own characteristic frequency
The neural tissues of the body oscillate, called neural oscillations
These vibrations create rhythmic activity, such as the heartbeat as well as carrying important information throughout the body
The pineal gland, also known as your third eye, consists of many tiny calcite crystals with a similar piezoelectric effect as quartz
While under pressure, these crystals change shape, vibrate and can even give off light
Perhaps producing otherworldly experiences
Keep these ideas in mind as we begin the exercise
