Well, I had me a date with a woman
On the other side of this town
But there came a rainstorm, and it rained so hard
That it washed the river bridge right down
Bad luck and bad weather
Seemed to follow me
Bad luck and bad weather
Is all I ever see
Then I got me a job in the city
Gonna make me a lotta pay
But it came a snowstorm, the night before
And don't you know, I got fired on my very first day
Bad luck and bad weather
Seemed to follow me
Bad luck and bad weather
Is all I ever see
I was buildin' me a house in Nashville
I finished it on Saturday
Come Sunday mornin', a big tornado just
Blew my new house away
Bad luck and bad weather
Seemed to follow me
Bad luck and bad weather
Is all I ever see
Then I moved a-way out on the desert
I dug a well four-hundred foot deep
Put up a windmill but the wind wouldn't blow
Enough water to wash my dirty feet
Bad luck and bad weather
Seemed to follow me
Bad luck and bad weather
Is all I ever see
Bad luck and bad weather
Seemed to follow me
Bad luck and bad weather
Is all I ever see
