Lyrics
Hand me down my walking cane
Hand me down my hat
Hurry now and don't be late
'Cause we ain't got time to chat
You and me, we're going out
To catch the latest sound
Guaranteed to blow your mind
So high you won't come down
Hey y'all prepare yourself
For the rubber band man
You never heard a sound
Like the rubber band man
You're bound to lose control
When the rubber band starts to jam
This rubber band man
This dude is out of sight
Everything he does
Seems to come out right
Once I went to hear him play
In a club outside of town
I was so surprised, I was hypnotized
By the sound this cat put down
When I saw this short fat man
Stretch a band between his toes
Well, I laughed so hard 'cause the man got down
'Cause he barely reached his nose
Hey y'all prepare yourself
For the rubber band man
You never heard a sound
Like the rubber band man
You're bound to lose control
When the rubber band starts to jam
This rubber band stretched
Up around his toes
And then he wriggled it up
Up around his nose
Guaranteed to blow your mind, yeah
Playing all this music
Just keeping time
Where in the world did he learn to do that, y'all?
Come on
Ah, come on, baby, yeah
Hey y'all prepare yourself
For the rubber band man
You never heard a sound
Like the rubber band man
You're bound to lose control
When the rubber band starts to jam
Rubber band man, rubber band man
How much of this do you think we can stand?
So much rhythm, grace and debonair for one man, y'all
And then he had the nerve to wiggle his left toe
To his knees, he could feel it in his head, y'all
Ah, come on, baby, yeah
Hey y'all prepare yourself
For the rubber band man
You never heard a sound
Like the rubber band man
You're bound to lose control
When the rubber band starts to jam
When the rubber band starts to jam
Moving up and down across the land
Got a wiggle all in his waist
Everything seems to be out of place
Keep on moving, keep on moving
Keep on moving, moving, moving, moving
Rubber band, rubber band man
Keep on moving, keep on moving
Keep on moving, moving, moving, moving
Rubber band, rubber band man
Get down, oh, get down, rubber band
