Glorious

The lyrics describe a speaker caught between doubt and hope. They seem dissatisfied with a softened or distorted view of reality, yet they still long for something greater. Faith feels both attractive and unsettling: it pulls the speaker in, even as it pushes them away. The repeated wish to believe that “we could be glorious” gives the song a yearning, uplifted feeling, but the references to hurt and lies keep that hope uneasy.

“Rose tinted view” suggests seeing things more positively than they really are. “Satellites that compromise the truth” may imply that distant or mediated views of events can distort what is real. The “cuts and bruises” can be read as emotional wounds, while “a hopeless embrace” suggests closeness that offers comfort but may not solve anything. “Rockets through the universe” makes faith feel powerful and vast, as if it can carry someone far beyond ordinary life.

The song leaves open whether faith is a source of genuine possibility or another force that sustains illusion. The speaker’s desire to believe is sincere, but the line about faith fueling lies and feeding a curse makes belief seem dangerous too. “Glorious” may describe a hoped-for future, a relationship, or a shared sense of purpose; the lyrics do not settle on one meaning.
