Lyrics
Stuck in the rain
Too late for the 10:30 train
Got a ticket for one
How is it that you're still tagging along
Well, let's go pay your tabs
Up and down the road
This cab driver won't stop talking
About the year that the river froze
And a young man fell when the ice broke
He says, "Have you heard of the ghost of Glasgow?"
So I made a few calls
Seems all of your friends have long moved on
They sent me downtown
To a couple of spots you used to hang around
Well, let's go walk these streets
To the banks below
The river keep says I remind him
Of someone he used to know
How they carried him in still soaked to the bone
And he pours out a drink to the ghost of Glasgow
Following the sound
Of voices laughing
Down that empty street
For the first time in a long time
I felt you watching over me
Scotland the Brave
That's the song they played for the last serenade
It was a king's farewell
Leaving empties on the steps of a cheap hotel
Well, let's go pay those tabs
And we can call them closed
This bartender swears I remind him
Of someone he used to know
And he starts to look a little bit closer
And he starts to talk a little bit slower
And says, "You're here to find your brother
And to walk these streets with the ghost of Glasgow
And share one more drink with the ghost of Glasgow
Yeah, walk these streets with the ghost of Glasgow
And share one more drink with the ghost of Glasgow"
